Sloan Monroe lost not only her fiancé, but also herself, two years ago and hasn’t coped well since. Her hilariously sarcastic best friend Kristen has been by her side, but no one has been able to pull her out of the sadness and loss she feels.

Enter Tucker. Literally. The aforementioned doggy carjacker. Only he’s not there to steal Sloan’s car - just her heart. If his doggy instincts are correct, he may let his actual owner steal her heart too.

Caring for Tucker, while tracking down said doggy owner, Sloan begins a fun and flirty phone and text exchange with Jason, who’s on business in Australia.  What she doesn’t realize at that moment is the adventure of the heart that a chance doggy encounter will lead to! There’s much more to Jason’s story and ‘business’ than Sloan realizes … 

Highs, lows, thrills, laughter, doubts, tears … it’s an emotional roller-coaster!  That said, I loved going on this ride with Jason and Sloan. They’re adorable, Tucker is adorable, Kristen and her husband Josh are hilarious … I loved pretty much every character by the end. I listened to this on audiobook, narrated by Erin Mallon and Zachary Webber, both of whom did an amazing job.  I didn’t know beforehand that this was Book #2 in The Friend Zone series and it completely works as a standalone, but I’ll be curious to go back and read Book #1 which features Kristen’s story.  She’s a riot, so I’m looking forward to that! There’s also a Book #3 … yay!
